Under the Product Stewardship (Televisions and Computers) Regulations 2011, approved co-regulatory arrangements are required to provide independently audited annual reports for the Department to publish. Co-regulatory arrangements report on a range of matters related to their role as administrators of the scheme.
The day-to-day operation of the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme is managed by four co-regulatory arrangements, Australian and New Zealand Recycling Platform (ANZRP), Ecycle Solutions (Ecycle), Electronics Product Stewardship Australasia (EPSA) and MRI PSO (MRI).
To date, more than 360,000 tonnes of TV and computer e-waste has been collected and recycled under the scheme. This has diverted hazardous materials away from landfill and enabled the reuse of valuable resources contained in e-waste.
The NTCRS co-regulatory arrangements help achieve these recycling outcomes and organise collection and recycling on behalf of their members.
