About the report
The National Inventory Report fulfils Australia’s international greenhouse gas inventory reporting requirements under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and is its first report under the Paris Agreement.
The National Inventory Report 2021 contains national greenhouse gas emission estimates for the period 1989-90 to 2020-21.
This report follows Paris Agreement reporting rules. We submitted it to the UNFCCC in April 2023.
Volume 1: General overview, recalculations, improvements, and details on Australia’s emissions estimates and methods for the energy (stationary energy, transport and fugitive emissions), industrial processes and product use, agriculture, land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF), and waste sectors.
