About the nomination and assessment
The ‘Warkworth Sands Woodland’ ecological community was placed on the 2014 Finalised Priority Assessment List (FPAL) by the Commonwealth Environment Minister. This FPAL item is currently being assessed by the Threatened Species Scientific Committee (the Committee) as a potentially threatened ecological community under Australia's national environmental law, the EPBC Act.
During the assessment process technical advice was reviewed, on the location of the ecological community. Because of this advice the Committee proposes renaming the ecological community as the Warkworth Sands Woodland of the Sydney Basin Bioregion. A draft Description and location map have been produced for the ecological community. The assessment is due for completion by 30 Apr 2016.
