Under subsection 194Q(4) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, the Minister for the Environment and Water, the Hon Tanya Plibersek MP, has extended the timeframe for consideration of this listing assessment from 1 December 2022 to 1 June 2023, to allow the Threatened Species Scientific Committee to review new information on the species’ conservation status in Queensland and proposed revised state fishing management arrangements, and to provide updated advice.
Under subsection 194Q(4) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, the Minister for the Environment and Water, the Hon Tanya Plibersek MP, extended the timeframe for consideration of this listing assessment from 1 June 2023 to 29 February 2024 to allow the Threatened Species Scientific Committee to consider implementation of recently announced Queensland fisheries reforms in regard to the conservation of scalloped hammerhead shark, and to provide updated advice.
