About the recovery plan
The Recovery Plan for the Southern Bent-wing Bat (Miniopterus orianae bassanii) was prepared by the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, and has been adopted under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) as the national recovery plan for this species. The Southern Bent-wing Bat occurs in Victoria and South Australia.
This is the first national recovery plan for the species. The long-term recovery objective is to ensure that the Southern Bent-wing Bat can survive, flourish and retain its potential for evolutionary development in the wild. The recovery plan outlines the recovery actions necessary to ensure the species’ long term survival in the wild.
