About this document
The draft Recovery Plan for Marine turtles in Australia, has been prepared by the Australian Government Department of the Environment and Energy, and is proposed to replace the initial (2003) recovery plan which was previously adopted under the EPBC Act for these species.
The long-term recovery objective for marine turtles is to minimise anthropogenic threats to allow for the conservation status of marine turtles to improve so that they can be removed from the EPBC Act threatened species list.
