About the document
The Ancillary Document provides transparency to stakeholders on how feedback received on the consultation draft of the PFAS NEMP 2.0 was considered and addressed.
Feedback was invited on new or significantly revised materials in the draft PFAS NEMP 2.0 identified as being in-scope for the consultations:
- Environmental guideline values
- Soil reuse
- Wastewater management and
- On-site containment.
Fifty written submissions were received by the due date of 21 June 2019.
The National Chemicals Working Group considered each of the matters raised in the written submissions and through the questions during the public consultations. The draft NEMP 2.0 was then revised to take into account that feedback before being finalised.
This Ancillary Document provides a summary of frequently asked questions as well as responses to specific feedback received. The stakeholder feedback is divided into five tables (one for each of the four areas listed above plus one for matters which were out of scope for the consultation). Each table includes: the themes raised in each area; a summary of the feedback raised under each theme; a list of the submissions that raised the same or similar points; and the NCWG’s responses. All non-confidential submissions received are provided as a separate file.
If anyone has difficulties in accessing any aspect of either the Ancillary Document or the collation of submissions on the draft NEMP 2.0, please email the department at the following address: PFASstandards@environment.gov.au
The PFAS NEMP 3.0 is currently open for public consultation.
