About this report

Prior to the regulation of waste plastic, the department commissioned a report on the waste plastics industry.

The report sets out existing standards and specifications for the recovery of waste plastic, and typical buyer considerations such as source, contamination levels, and moisture content.

The report is an important reference for the department, including when assessing waste plastics licence applications.
