About the application
The Department of the Environment and Energy has received an application and draft assessment report under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) to add Pygmy Hippopotamus (Choeropsis liberiensis) to the Live Import List for exhibition in a zoological facility.
The report has been prepared against the standard terms of reference and assesses the suitability of these species for import into Australia.
How can I get involved
Comments are invited on the draft report. It is available for public comment for approximately 25 business days, closing on Friday 16 March 2018.
