Comments invited
The Department of the Environment and Energy has received an application and draft assessment report under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) to include Crassostrea gigas, Crassostrea sikamea, Crassostrea virginica, Ostrea edulis, Ostrea lurida and Ostrea conchaphila on the Live Import List for scientific research purposes.
The report has been prepared against the research terms of reference and assesses the suitability of these species for import into Australia.
Comments are invited on the draft report. It is available for public comment for 20 business days, closing on 10 July 2017. All comments received will be provided to the applicant to address in finalising the assessment report. Any relevant information provided will be considered by the Department prior to briefing the Minister.
