Invitation to comment
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water has received an application for a Wildlife Trade Operation under Part 13A, section 303FN of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (the EPBC Act). The operation is to breed Australian lungfish for commercial purposes using brood stock collected between 2016-2019, under a Queensland government permit. No wild caught specimens will be harvested under this proposal and all fish for export will be captive bred stock. The operation aims to breed Australian lungfish for the international aquarium industry.
Should the proposal be approved, it will remain in force for up to three (3) years in line with the declaration.
How can I get involved
In accordance with the provisions of section 303FR of the EPBC Act, all interested parties are invited to comment on the proposal. Please submit your comments by Tuesday 14 February 2023.
