Progress implementing the Reef 2050 Plan

We have made substantial progress in implementing the 151 actions under the Reef 2050 Plan. The Reef 2050 Plan 2017 Annual Report shows that over 25 per cent of the actions are completed or in place and over 70 per cent are on track or underway. You can read more about the progress made so far in the Reef 2050 Annual Report 2017.

About the 2017 Annual Report

The 2017 Annual Report summarises progress against Reef 2050 Plan actions for the reporting period between mid-2016 and mid-2017. This is the second Annual Report for the Reef 2050 Plan.

Comprehensive progress updates for all Reef 2050 Plan actions are published on the Atlas of Living Australia every six months.

  • 39 are completed or in place (implementation is fully completed OR initial implementation has been completed, but part of the action is ongoing)
  • 106 are on track/underway (implementation is meeting expected milestones and progress is being made)
  • 2 are delayed/limited progress (major implementation milestones have been delayed by less than 6 months, or only superficial progress has been made)
  • 1 has significant delays or no progress (major implementation milestones have been delayed for longer than six months or no progress has been made)
  • 3 are not yet due (implementation is not yet due to commence)
