On 14 April 2016, the Minister for the Environment, the Hon Greg Hunt MP, tabled the Australian Government’s response to the Senate Inquiry on the Management of the Great Barrier Reef. The Inquiry aims to assess the Australian and Queensland Governments’ efforts to stop the decline of the Great Barrier Reef. The Senate Standing Committee on Environment and Communications made a series of recommendations which are addressed by the Australian Government in this report.
