Tourism operators need a permit or a licence to run activities in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Please refer to the guidelines below to determine which one you need:

Tour operators must also complete the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Knowledge for tour guides program.
Permits
You need a permit to carry out a routine or standard activity in areas of the park that are generally open to the public without a limit on numbers.
This covers most tours in public areas around Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

Licences
If a tourism activity is limited by type, location or number of operators or involves exclusive use of a site then it must operate under a tourism licence. Tourism licences are issued with a minimum five-year term.

New Trade Portal for Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Passes
The Trade Portal is for permitted and licensed tourism operators and agents who purchase National Park passes. It was designed for and in collaboration with tourism operators.
Commercial partners can use the Trade Portal to purchase or sell park passes to customers.

Park pass fees help provide the visitor facilities guests enjoy and preserve the park's environmental and cultural sites. Part of the fee goes back to traditional owners to support the Aṉangu community.
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park knowledge for tour guides program
All tour guides working in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park must complete the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Knowledge for tour guides program.
This program provides entry-level training on the things a tour guide should know when working in the park, including key areas of visitor safety, understanding the park's natural and cultural values and history, minimising environmental impact, and legal compliance.
