Tour operators must also complete the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Knowledge for tour guides program.
You need a permit to carry out a routine or standard activity in areas of the park that are generally open to the public without a limit on numbers.
This covers most tours in public areas around Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.
If a tourism activity is limited by type, location or number of operators or involves exclusive use of a site then it must operate under a tourism licence. Tourism licences are issued with a minimum five-year term.
