About this document

This document constitutes the draft Recovery Plan for the Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens ecological community. The draft recovery plan sets out the management, research and other actions necessary to stop the decline, and support the recovery, of the ecological community on mainland Australia and Tasmania.

The Alpine Sphagnum Bogs and Associated Fens ecological community is listed as endangered under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). This is the first national recovery plan for this ecological community.

The primary objective of this draft recovery plan is to maintain or extend the current known extent (area) of the ecological community, and to maintain or improve the condition of the ecological community over the life of the plan.
