Bush Blitz is Australia’s largest nature discovery program. Its aim is to document plants and animals across Australia.
This exciting and ambitious aim is supported by a pioneer partnership between the Australian Government, BHP and Earthwatch Australia.
Bush Blitz involves scientists, Indigenous communities, local landowners, teachers, students and BHP employees. They are working together to make an extraordinary contribution to the protection of our country’s natural heritage.

Bush Blitz TeachLive
Through the innovative ‘Bush Blitz TeachLive’ project, teachers accompany scientists on field expeditions and help to document plants and animals and discover new species. Students are engaged in this exciting process of discovery. While on the expedition, the teachers teach ‘live’ back to their classrooms via the TeachLive website, taking their students on a virtual expedition and involving them directly in the scientific research and discoveries.
