FunKey is the first comprehensive, interactive key to the genera of agarics known from Australia.

Agarics are macrofungi with lamellae, commonly known as mushrooms or toadstools. The agarics are one of the more conspicuous groups of fungi, often attracting attention through their variety of colour and form. They carry out important roles in ecosystems, by forming partnerships with trees (mycorrhizae) and through decomposition of wood and litter. Some species are edible, but others are highly toxic.

FunKey: Key to Agarics will make identification of this important and alluring group of organisms accessible to a wide range of users, including professional taxonomists, ecologists, plant and forest pathologists, poisons information and healthcare professionals, conservation and land managers, environmental consultants, field naturalists, citizen scientists, bushwalkers, artists and nature photographers.

FunKey: Key to Agarics contains considerable explanatory material about the structure of agarics, and will be of assistance in identification workshops and higher secondary and tertiary student classes.

The latest web-integrated Lucid™ Player provides an easy-to-use interface, with comprehensive fact-sheets for each genus, detailed information on the interpretation of all characters, and numerous drawings and photographs of macroscopic and microscopic features.
