This book is available from bookshops which stock botanical titles or CSIRO Publishing
This volume contains a register of Australian moss species for which some type (or putative type) material is held in Australian herbaria.
For each basionym listed there is a citation of specimen information from the protologue, packet information from putative type specimens held in Australian herbaria, a list of all herbaria known to hold types, and comments on nomenclature, including synonyms. Each listing concludes with the currently accepted name for the taxon. Supplementary listings of illegitimate later homonyms and nomina nuda follow.
The moss type holdings of Australian herbaria are summarised in a comprehensive table. An Appendix lists collectors of Australian mosses, with details of their dates of birth and death or period of bryological activity, the Australian States in which they collected, and the herbaria which are known to hold their collections. All moss names occurring in the book are indexed, and there is a comprehensive bibliography. The book should assist monographers wanting to locate type material in Australian herbaria, as well as providing a ready reference to bibliographic information on collectors and describers of these taxa.
