The report discusses methods to increase the understanding of the vertical hydraulic conductivity of aquitards to improve conceptualisation, parameterisation and representation of aquitards in regional groundwater models. The report describes methods for upscaling aquitard hydrogeological parameter values and including these in a numerical groundwater flow models in a case study of the Gunnedah Basin.
