Reef resilience
A resilient reef is one that can survive, adapt and recover when it is impacted by threats.
Coral reefs worldwide are facing a range of threats that are testing their resilience.
For the Great Barrier Reef, these include:
- climate change
- poor water quality
- crown-of-thorns starfish outbreaks
- high-risk fishing activities
- marine debris.
