Community and partners

Last updated: 05 September 2024

We work with individuals and groups across the Murray–Darling Basin to plan, deliver and monitor Commonwealth water for the environment. This includes:

  • water management authorities
  • environmental water holders
  • members of the scientific community
  • First Nations peoples
  • regional advisory groups
  • community groups
  • industry and irrigators
  • landowners.

Our Local Engagement Officers (LEOs) help us engage with these individuals and groups.

We work with state environmental water holders, river operators, and other delivery partners to manage Commonwealth water for the environment.

Environmental activity partnerships

The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder can also fund environmental activities.

Local engagement

We work closely with First Nations communities to plan, deliver and monitor water for the environment.
