The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder has agreed to deliver water for the environment to the lower Namoi River to support native fish populations and river connectivity.

Namoi River Valley - Update 1 - October 2023
Following 2 wet years in the Namoi River Valley, conditions are drying. Commonwealth water for the environment is being delivered to help build a healthy environment for native fish. This will improve opportunities for them to breed and grow and help native fish populations survive the next drought. Delivering water for the environment will also maintain connection between the lower Namoi River and the Barwon River.
