About the monitoring framework
An Australian sea lion monitoring framework was developed to address Action 5.1 of the Recovery Plan for the Australian Sea Lion, which requires managers and researchers to “develop and apply a quantitative framework to assess the population status and potential recovery of the Australian sea lion across its range”. The framework guides the development of an appropriate monitoring design for Australian sea lions.
About the statistical model
The statistical model document implements and applies the monitoring framework to different sampling scenarios, to illustrate how the framework can be used to identify an appropriate monitoring design for the Australian sea lion.
