This report is one in a series of technical reports that make up the National Assessment of Chemicals Associated with Coal Seam Gas Extraction in Australia (the Assessment). This report reviews the literature about naturally occurring chemicals and hydraulic fracturing available before 2013.

This review investigates geogenic contaminants and the processes that may mobilise them during hydraulic fracturing and the production phase of coal seam gas operations.
