Heritage Minerals brings Mount Morgan back to life
Heritage Minerals is giving new life to the old Mount Morgan mine in Queensland. They are building a modern plant to recover gold, copper and pyrite from old mine waste. This reduces environmental risks and creates jobs and economic value for the community.
Circular technology
Instead of digging new mines, the company uses special technology from GreenGold to take minerals out of old waste. This process also cleans up the land, making it safer and better for future use. The project is supported by private investors, the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility, and grants from the Queensland Government.
Working together
Heritage Minerals works with local communities, Indigenous businesses and government partners. Together, they aim to create long-term benefits. This project shows how old mining sites can be reused in sustainable ways.
Supporting a circular economy
This work supports Australia’s Circular Economy. This means:
- getting value from resources we already have
- reducing waste
- helping nature recover.
This example shows how the resources sector can improve how land is used. It also supports local jobs.
