The Macquarie River and Marshes Flow-MER Area-scale Project is being undertaken from 2024 to 2029. The project is led by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in partnership with:
- the Dharriwaa Elders Group and Wayilwan Mayi & Friends
- NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NSW DCCEEW)
- NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS)
- NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD).
Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Plan
The Macquarie River and Marshes Monitoring, Evaluation and Research (MER) Plan details the planned monitoring, evaluation, research and knowledge exchange activities for the five years of the program. The Macquarie River and Marshes Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) details the planned activities for each individual financial year.

Annual reports
The Macquarie River and Marshes Area-scale Project annual reports help us understand how water for the environment maintains, protects and restores the rivers, wetlands, plants and animals in that Area. The annual reports also contribute to our legislative reporting obligations.
The 2024-25 Macquarie River and Marshes Flow-MER Annual report is now available.
