About the review of decisions to have a plan public comment process

You are invited to submit your views on whether a threat abatement plan is needed for the above key threatening processes in accordance with provisions of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

As a statutory requirement, the Minister must review past decisions not to have a threat abatement plan at five yearly intervals and be informed by the advice of the Threatened Species Scientific Committee and may take into consideration the views of other interested parties.

At the end of the comment period, the Minister will consider advice received to decide whether a threat abatement plan is a feasible, effective and efficient way to abate this process.

About the draft threat abatement plan public comment process

You are invited to comment on the above draft threat abatement plans as required under the provisions of section 275 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

The release of these draft threat abatement plans marks the beginning of a two month public comment period that will close on the dates listed.

At the end of this period the draft plans will be revised, taking into consideration any comments received. The Australian Government Environment Minister will consider the revised plans as well as the comments received when deciding on adoption of the plans.

Under subsection 279(2) of the EPBC Act, the Minister is required to review threat abatement plans at least every five years.
