Enhancing Remnant Vegetation pilot

Last updated: 01 March 2025

Applications for the Enhancing Remnant Vegetation pilot are closed.

The Enhancing Remnant Vegetation pilot encourages landholders to improve biodiversity on their properties. This pilot is being run in conjunction with the Carbon + Biodiversity Pilot. It is informing the Nature Repair Market.

The pilot uses protocols designed by the Australian National University (ANU) to manage native vegetation. These protocols are adapted to local ecosystems to cater to region-specific needs. Natural Resource Management (NRM) organisations provided input to the protocols and supported landholders to establish projects.

Participants are funded for activities that improve existing vegetation on their property.

Regions

The first round of the Enhancing Remnant Vegetation Pilot is being trialled in 6 NRM regions:

  • Burnett-Mary in Queensland
  • Central West in New South Wales
  • North Central in Victoria
  • NRM North in Tasmania
  • Eyre Peninsula in South Australia
  • South West in Western Australia.
