I, PETER ROBERT GARRETT, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts hereby approve, under section 303FU of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and in accordance with Regulation 9A.21 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2000, the Malaysian management arrangements for ramin (Gonystylus spp.) from Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak as an Approved Commercial Import Program.

This approval is subject to the following condition:

  1. A relevant permit or certificate must be issued in compliance with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora by the appropriate authority of the country of export or re-export.
