We provide ongoing assurance to the local and wider community that the Alligator Rivers Region (ARR) remains protected from the effects of uranium mining. We do this through a range of activities designed to communicate the outcomes of our supervision and assessment program, and the results of our research and monitoring activities. These communication and engagement activities provide the SSB with the opportunity to identify, understand and address stakeholder concerns, expectations and sensitivities relating to uranium mining in the ARR.
Our staff also attend and present papers at a range of national and international conferences and events, and participate in local festivals, school talks, open days, exhibitions and on-country knowledge-sharing with local indigenous communities.
