About the Australian Heritage Strategy
What does heritage mean to Australians, and how can we best understand, acknowledge and protect what is important to us?
The Australian Heritage Strategy sets out Australia’s national heritage priorities and a strategic direction for its future.
The vision of the strategy is that our natural, historic and Indigenous heritage places are valued by Australians, protected for future generations and cared for by the community.
The strategy was released in 2015 and supports the work of individuals, communities, organisations and governments by providing a common direction for the recognition, protection and management of Australia’s heritage.
