National water infrastructure
The National Water Grid Fund (NWGF) is the Australian Government’s water infrastructure investment program. It aims to improve water access and security for:
- productive use (such as agricultural)
- community use.
Three key objectives drive the NWGF:
- Provide safe and reliable water for regional and remote communities.
- Generate public benefit through responsible investment in water infrastructure for productive use.
- Build resilient water infrastructure that is environmentally sustainable and culturally responsive.
